Redefine Your Game Of Life..!

“Life is a game, where either you lose or you learn. - Robert Kiyosaki”

When I came into contact with the knowledge I am about to share, it changed a lot of my perspectives.

It changed the way I took action and it changed the way I shaped my vision.

In simple words:

You're always playing a game.

It is either your own game or that of someone else.

The game is always created by sudden perspectives, structures, or rules that you need to live in or follow.

"If you don't play in your own game, someone will hire you to play a part in theirs.” - Job Baltes

You have different types of games that you are a part of.

You have different outcomes of the game you are a part of.

You have different intentions with playing your game.

After this article, you will be able to:

  • Know which type of game you're playing.

  • Identify what it is you are playing for.

  • Be more aware of the impact of your playing style.

Infinite games & finite games

The kind of game you're playing can always be categorized into one of those two games: infinite or finite.

Both have their charms, let's explore them.

Infinite game: An infinite game is a game with both known and unknown players.

The rules of the game can change, and the goal is to keep the game going and continue playing.

You can see running a country as an infinite game.

It has known and unknown sides, the rules often change, and you want the country up and running all the time.

Having good relationships should also be an infinite game.

There is no such thing as winning in an infinite game. You create, compound, and make it better!

Finite game: A finite game is a game with known players, fixed rules, and an agreed-upon goal.

For example, finishing a project at work: Finishing a project at work is like a game with an end because there is a limited number of tasks that need to be done, and the game ends when the project is completed.

In a finite game, you win in the end when the thing you played for is completed.

If you identify which game you're playing, you can manage your strategy or approach in a different way.

The power of this theory is that you can change your approach to things by choosing the game you play in the things you do.

Wealth or Status

What are you playing for: wealth or status?

In the end, you will always playing for one of those two.

So let us define what I mean by wealth and status.

Wealth: Wealth games are positive-sum games, meaning that everyone can win.

Having enough money, being healthy, and having good relationships are important parts of being wealthy.

Taking care of your body, so you have the power to create and take care of others.

Having a healthy mind and stable emotions to lead.

Working on:

  • your mental strength,

  • your emotional intelligence

  • you feeling good about yourself

Can make you happier and more peaceful, which makes you wealthier.

Doing things that make you:

  • happy

  • give you purpose

  • make you feel accomplished

Also contributes to wealth.

You are of value and create things that are worth something, which in the long run can bring you money.

Wealth isn't about having lots of things; it's about having a life that's abundant, healthy, and fulfilling.

"Wealth is what you don't see."

Status: Status games, on the other hand, are zero-sum games, meaning that someone has to lose for another person to win.

This is because status is often based on comparisons with others.

What you can define as status are the things you see, like expensive watches or cars, so-called symbols of status.

Big universal titles are also seen as symbols of status.

It is for yourself that you have it, and someone else cannot.

That is why the designer market works so well.

By having limited supply or making things expensive, you make it less accessible, and that is what gives it status.

From the moment we started having belongings and titles, the status game was born because that is the moment when you can start comparing.

Status is about being better than the other as a driver for ego, like the one-rep max in the gym.

There is no right or wrong in those two games, but it is something that's good to be conscious of.

“Two things define you: Your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything.” - Imam Ali

Morals

Based on morals, you can determine which game someone is playing.

If you have bad morals, mostly you are in a finite game where you will do everything to win.

If you want to make a lot of money quickly, your morals can be questioned sometimes.

Getting rich quick without putting in the time and effort is usually just for marketing.

Or it will cost someone else more because you gain from their losses.

If you do that, you are working towards your own end, where your morals could be questioned.

People will not stay with you for the long term or keep coming back to you.

Bad morals will cost you more in the end.

But, good morals based on integrity and honesty will not help you gain in the short term, but in the long term, they will.

Why wouldn't you come back to someone with good morals?

Remember, what you give is what you get.

“The man who starts out simply with the idea of getting rich won't succeed, you must have a larger ambition.” - John D. Rockefeller

Intentions

You can categorize your intentions into two types of power.

You can divide it into P power (Personal gain) or S power (Selfishness gain).

P power is for personal gains.

Most often, it desires status and is more careless with their morals.

They want the best for themselves in the end, and in the deepest urge, they would rather get than give.

Of course, they give, but they give to get, they give for the status.

S power is power relative to the achievement of a community goal.

It is way more selfless, as they want to build something for the greater good.

It is fulfilled with meaning in their actions, which goes along with good morals.

It is about the way you do things, your intention of doing.

Your intentions depend on which moral track you will fall into more easily.

The power in P or S power stands for status or wealth gained through the infinite or finite game you're playing.

Framed in your morals that are bound by to your intention.

Load your game

Check with yourself the resources you gathered to play.

What are you currently doing?

What are your skill sets?

What tools do you have at your disposal?

My resources are the theater and sales experience I have, my passion for expanding my knowledge, and all the books I have lying around.

I also have a laptop and an internet connection, as well as a good will to learn and improve.

Define what game you're playing: I am in the finite game with what I am doing, building my personal brand by posting content.

That will always exist with a compounding interest in the future.

Define what you're playing for: I am playing for wealth.

It would be fun to have a nice watch, of course, but I am playing to be free from location, with enough income to sustain myself in the long run.

I play for my mission to help as many people as possible to express themselves.

Think of the way you want to play: I want to play my game with good morals and by giving as much as I can while working hard.

I aim to expand the mission and create something that can become bigger than me.
