"Expression And It’s Accents Simplified"

The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways; however, the crucial point is to change it. - Karl Marx

I felt like I was going through the motions, stuck in a system.

I was limited by thoughts and beliefs that were imposed on me by my environment and the life I had.

There was little room for who I am and what I wanted to do, to create something meaningful in this world.

Now it feels like I am creating that something.

Creating is my way of expressing myself.

Building towards something is the purpose.

"Helping as many people as possible to express themselves"

Is the mission.

If I go back to the things I always did, it was always related to creating and building stuff.

  • As a child, I built forts, swords, forts from pillows, or anything that I could get my hands on. I made bad YouTube videos.

  • As a teenager, I made small theater plays, worked on random things (building stuff), drew, and wrote a lot.

  • As a young adult, I created dances, small theater plays, music, and now articles and video content.

When I was not creating, I felt less happy because creating is my biggest outlet of expression.

Creating gives me freedom, which is why I love theater and why I am falling in love with business.

It is darn interesting when you're creating while playing a game.

It is fun.

I found that by sticking to who I am and creating, things come to me in a natural way if you put the time and effort into the things you do.

What is expresion?

According to the Cambridge dictionary:

  • The act of saying what you think or showing how you feel using words or actions.

  • The look on someone's face, showing what they feel or think.

  • A word or group of words having a particular meaning or used in a particular way.

In simple words, it is about bringing what is happening on the inside to the outside.

It is about giving meaning to things.

It is about valuing things.

An expression is a way to communicate thoughts, feelings, or mathematical concepts with others using language, art, emotions, or mathematical symbols.

When it comes to expressing, it is an abstract concept because everybody expresses themselves in their own way.

But people are, by nature, sense makers.

Abstract concepts do not make sense a lot of the time.

If the majority of people do not understand you or if what you're doing does not make sense to them, it can trigger a negative reaction.

If things do not fit into people's point of view, you may encounter resistance.

If you put a lot of crabs in a bowl and they crawl over each other, if one tries to climb out, the others will try to pull them back down instead of helping them get out.

When you live in the same world alongside each other, things make sense.

When you go your own way and create your own world, people may become critical and try to bring you down so that you stay the same.

When I heard about the crab mentality for the first time, it was eye-opening.

“You must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible.” - Deepak Chopra

6 Human needs

Every human has six basic needs.

If you can fulfill as many of them as you want, you will live a happier life.

All those needs are bound in a way that can be connected to expressing yourself.

(6 Human Needs - Tony Robbins)

  • Certainty: assurance you can avoid pain and gain pleasure, express how you feel give let people know your fears

  • Uncertainty/Variety: the need for the unknown, change, new stimuli,

  • Significance: feeling unique, important, special or needed

  • Connection/Love: a strong feeling of closeness or union with someone or something

  • Growth: an expansion of capacity, capability or understanding

  • Contribution: a sense of service and focus on helping, giving to and supporting others

How it is bound to expressing yourself:

  • Certainty: Express how you feel; let people know your fears.

  • Uncertainty/Variety: Express yourself by trying new things and exploring what fits you.

  • Significance: Let your inner world out so you can show everyone the difference you can and want to make. Embrace yourself and create with it.

  • Connection/Love: Love and connect with yourself and the things you do to express your inner self to the outside. Have unity with like-minded people in your field.

  • Growth: The more you express yourself, the better you get, the more you grow, and you improve over time.

  • Contribution: If you become good at the thing you do to express yourself, you can use it to help others. Give back by expressing.

If you find what fits you and your way of expression, you can manage that in a way that fulfills your human needs.

“If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you’ll find an excuse.” - Ryan Blair

With whom do you live YOUR life?

You can decide for yourself if the life you live is the life in which you express yourself.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Is this the life where you make use of all your talents?

  • Is this the life that you want to live for the rest of your life?

  • Are you working towards the life that you want?

  • Do the people around you bring you up or down?

  • Is this the life you think you deserve?

Your best thinking has gotten you where you are now, so it is time to try some new things.

Let's try to overcome the crab mentality.

“If you want something you have never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done.” -Thomas Jefferson

That means you need to find:

  • People you align with, who share the same visions and thoughts.

  • People you can dream with.

  • People who take action.

  • People who are always learning.

They help lift you up instead of dragging you down.

If your friends and surroundings are crabs, they will tear you down and you will not progress easily.

If your surroundings are negative, you will become negative.

When I was still in theater school, the people I was hanging around with smoked cigarettes and weed, and so did I.

Since I am no longer in theater school, I no longer smoke weed or cigarettes on a daily or weekly basis.

Garbage in, garbage out.

Be conscious

Be conscious of your thoughts, what you consume, and who and where you consume it from.

Everything that you're not conscious of is ruining your life.

If you become conscious of your best thinking and where it has gotten you, you can change it and take control of your own life.

A lot of people don't even know what is good for themselves, so don't think people know what is good for you.

You know what is good for you, you are you!

Give yourself the advice you would give your best friend.

To change your thoughts, change what you consume. - Alex Hormozi

What do we know now?

What we know now is that:

Expression is what is happening on the inside brought to the outside.

Ways of expressing include sharing thoughts, feelings, or math with others using language, art, emotions, or math symbols.

Expressing is different for everybody because everybody is different.

That is why it does not make sense for a lot of people the way you express yourself.

People are critical when it does not make sense to them; the majority will drag you down.

Your 6 human needs: Certainty, Uncertainty/Variety, Significance, Connection/Love, Growth, Contribution can be used to manage your expression.

Your surroundings matter for your behavior and how much you grow.

You need to be conscious of what you consume.

Is what you consume beneficial to you?

If the answer is no, then don't consume it!
